Success Story 30 July 2024

74 year old entrepreneur Ferris Cowper has had an extensive career working for big brands like Mars and IBM and running several successful SMEs, as well as a stint as a Local Council Leader, but he didn't want to stop there. Last year he built and opened his very own restaurant in Surrey.

Named after his late 103-year-old mother and inspired by her carer Csilla, Ferris used a £25,000 loan to set up Vicky’s Brasserie located in Haslemere, which serves a fusion of modern British and Central European dishes.

The Start-Up Loan allowed Ferris to completely refurbish the Grade II building and the restaurant opened for business in December 2023.

I love learning new things and taking on new challenges and that is what I did when setting up Vicky’s Brasserie, so I am absolutely delighted with the success of the brasserie so far. The capital injection of the Start Up Loan was critical in supporting the refurbishment of the restaurant. I also really appreciated the support from my dedicated loan advisor who guided me throughout the whole loan application process. Ferris Cowper Owner, Vickys’s Brasserie
