Start Up Loans - Backed Juni & Co Helping to Drive Forward Progress on UK Net Zero
Press release
Ahead of COP 29 next week, local business Juni & Co has taken measures to make sure it is one of the small businesses helping to drive progress in the UK’s journey to Net Zero.
Small businesses are crucial in the journey to achieving Net Zero goals, and Juni & Co serves as inspiration for existing or aspiring business owners, of any age and at any stage of their sustainability journey.
Madeleine White was a freelance make-up artist when she decided to set up her own sustainable cosmetic line, which she sold online. Due to the success of the business Madeleine decided to open her own store in the Royal Arcade in Norwich, which sells her own products as well as those produced by other eco-conscious cosmetic and skincare brands. All products are organic, vegan and cruelty-free, with many being refillable or plastic-free to combat excess waste.
Madeleine White, Founder of Juni & Co, Norwich commented:
Conscious beauty and wellness products are more than a trend; it's a commitment to our planet and future generations. As a small business, we have the agility and passion to address environmental issues head-on, creating and retailing products that not only care for our customers but also for the environment. Every eco-conscious choice we make is a step towards a more sustainable world.
Richard Bearman, Managing Director, Small Business Lending at the British Business Bank said:
We are immensely proud to support the entrepreneurial spirit within communities that traditionally face barriers to financing. It is our firm belief that by providing access to financing, we are not only fostering innovation but also empowering individuals to create sustainable enterprises that contribute positively to our economy and society.
Juni & Co exemplifies our commitment. Madeleine has now established a thriving, eco-conscious business, demonstrating the transformative impact of the Start Up Loans programme.
Michele Stewart, Director of Operations, NWES added:
Supporting early-stage businesses to achieve economic and environmental sustainability is a key aspect of our local community’s future. Madeleine has successfully launched and developed her business, seizing on the opportunity that society’s environmental conscious brings. By utilising the available support, Madeline has established Juni & Co in a prime retail location.
In East of England, Start Up Loans has lent nearly £1.7m to people who are economically inactive or unemployed, since 2012.
